The Surrey Fire Protection District provides fire & rescue services to Surrey Township
and offers mutual aid to surrounding townships and departments.
We are always striving to increase our capabilities and equipment to better serve our community.
In early 2021, a new Chief and Assistant Chief were elected for the first time in many years. Since then, we have made a hard push for new equipment such as extrication tools, wildland gear, structure fire tools, and other needed gear. These new extrication tools are a huge asset to provide better rescue services in the case of motor vehicle accidents and any other entrapment scenario that could occur. 2022 was a big year for us as we brought back the mud races in a big fashion and started doing a yearly raffle. The members are taking strides to increase certifications and qualifications like this district has not seen in the past. All of this is to provide better services to you, the local residents, and those who pass through our district. We are here for you!
Goal of 2023:
We are in the market to replace two fire trucks.
Our tanker, an old 80's milk truck, is in dire need of replacement. This truck is past it's prime and is starting to have ongoing problems. Second would be our fire engine from the early 90's. This engine is our only but also first due engine and currently has problems with the pump and is not capable of providing adequate fire suppression. By replacing the engine with a much newer truck, we will greatly increase our fire suppression capabilities for our district.
FIREMAN'S PRAYER
When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage, give me strength to save a life, whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late, or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout, and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me, to guard my neighbor and protect his property.
And if according to your will I have to lose my life, bless with your protecting hand my loving family from strife.
